This is the home of Farup Bengals

Farup is a Cattery in northern Denmark, located by the English Channel. My husband and I began
breeding wild-looking, lovely bengal cats in the year 2001. The Bengal breed is derived by hybridizing
a domestic short hair tabby cat with an Asian Leopard Cat. We only breed from top quality bloodlines.

Our Goals:

Health

Our top priority is to breed healthy Bengal cats and produce healthy Bengal kittens. In this regard,
I would like to explain our breeding and maintenance methods.

Our breeding stock goes through a thorough physical examination which includes x-rays, ultrasounds and bloodtests.
These procedures ensure that we are using "structurally sound" breeding stock. Our Bengal cats are all checked
regularly by our veterinarian (at least once a year) and are vaccinated yearly.

All new Bengal cats are kept in home-quarantine for at least four weeks.
This ensures that all communicable diseases, if any are present, are isolated and medically treated until the
Bengal cat is completely healthy. Such rigorous isolation and maintenance ensures that our Cattery is free of
feline related diseases.

To further ensure the control of disease Farup Bengals is a "closed" Cattery and we do not give stud services.

We house our breeding Bengal cats in organized , bright, spacious, playrooms with no more than 4 cats per room.
And, our studs are kept individually per room.
This planned layout ensures a stress free environment, which in turn promotes healthy, happy Bengal cats.

To further ensure the control of disease we have set a very high sanitary standard.
On a daily basis the floors are bleached, the food & water dishes are washed and the litter boxes are cleaned.

To further promote healthy & hardy Bengal cats we use the highest quality food for their diet.

Our last objective involves careful selection of bloodlines to strengthen this wonderful breed.

Breeding Program

Our present breeding stock consists of rosetted pelts, highly contrasted spots to body coat, wild faces and
whited tummies. Most of our cats are glittered as well as being long bodied. Outside of our brown spotted Bengal
lines we have begun to breed the silver spotted Bengal.
All in all, we have eight bloodlines, four different ALC-lines (Kabuki, Baghara Khan, Leopole and Pizzazz).
