Adult or Kitten? Male or Female?
These are some of the mostcommonly asked questions.
What fits best into our family?
Kitten:
Advantages in adopting a kitten are they look very sweet and nice at an early age.
You can watch their developement and how the colours, markings and the contrast change.
It takes between 1,5 to 3 years until the bengal cat has developed its final colouring.
You can easy educate a kitten and softly make it fit into your family.
Very often a kitten can be easily socialised with other animals or children than older cats.
Howeve, this is not always the rule.
Animals like humans can have genetically different tempers, personalities and abilities.
Adult cats:
The advantages in adopting an adult are very obvious.
They seem to be calmer and do not play as wildly as a young kitten.
That does not mean they are no playful or nosy.
On the contrary a healthy and happy bengal should be active throughout it's entire lifetime.
Adult Bengals are often supposed to be well socialized . This of course depends on the breeder as well as it's genes.
However they are used to family rules.
In adult bengals the colouring no longer changes much. So when you buy an adult you know what you get.
But not just a cat's appearance is of importance.
The immune system of an "older " cat is of course completely developed and the cats are more resistant against sicknesses.br>In case a cat is having has any geneti faults it should have shown by an "older " age.
Again, when adopting an adult you know what you get.
Male or Female?
This is one of the most common questions.
Out of our own experience, we have found that it doesn't really matter. Both gender can be lovely and gentle.
Very often it depends on the bloodline and how a cat has been socialized.
Regarding spraying, is it a fairytale to believe that just males spray.
Many females start spraying when in season,
whereas fertile males sometimes use the litterbox.
Also this seems to be due to the individual bloodline.
Usually the spraying stops when the cats are neutered or spayed.
Exceptions to this rules may be found..
Who fits best to whom?
Some people would like to adopt two cats. In this case they would like to know if a male fits best to a male or a male to a female or a female to a female.
Our experience shows that it doesn't really matter. We had all kinds kind of groups and found out that each combination that works depends on the individual cat.
If you put the right cat with the right cat the gender doesn't matter.
Some breeders do have a different point of view.
So if you would like to make sure that a certain combination of cats is working have a look at the cats and watch their behaviour before buying them.
